What this tool stores
Short version: the text you submit is stored and sent to a model in the United States. Do not submit personal data, secrets or confidential text.
Who runs it
jev-fit is run by an individual developer in Portugal. This person is the data controller. Contact: hello@jev-fit.com.
What is stored
For each idea that you submit, the database keeps:
- the idea text;
- the answers of the model;
- the time of the request;
- the rubric version, the model version, and if the answer was real or a demo;
- technical data of the model call: its duration, its token counts, and an error message if it failed;
- a hash of the idea text, to find a cached answer;
- a hash of the delete key for that result.
The tool also counts page views and share clicks per day. These are totals only. They are not linked to a person or to a result.
What is not stored
- No IP address in the database.
- No account, no name, no email address. The one exception is a paid plan, see "Paid plans" below.
- No cookies.
- No third-party scripts, fonts or images, and no advertising. The pages load every file from this site.
Cloudflare, the host, uses your IP address to deliver the page and to limit the request rate. Cloudflare can keep technical request logs for a short time. The tool does not copy your IP address into its database.
Your browser keeps one item in local storage: the delete keys for the results that you made. It stays in your browser. It is not used to identify you.
Why it is stored
The text and the answers are stored for three purposes:
- to show a result again at its link;
- to give the stored answer when the same text is submitted again;
- to improve the rubric, which is the set of questions that the model answers.
Stored text and answers are not used to train a model. They are not sold.
The legal basis is the legitimate interest of the developer in operating and improving the tool. You choose what you submit. You can object at any time, and you can delete your result.
Who can read a result
Each result has a link. Anyone who has the link can read the idea text and the verdict. The links are random and are not listed anywhere. A person who submits exactly the same text gets the same stored result.
Paid plans
If you buy a paid API key, Polar handles the payment as the merchant of record. Polar holds your payment data and your billing details. jev-fit never sees your card data.
Polar tells jev-fit that a subscription started or ended. From that message, jev-fit stores your email address, Polar's customer number and subscription number, the plan, a hash of the API key, and the number of calls for each month. The key itself is not stored. The legal basis is the contract with you. Ideas that you send with a key are stored the same way as all other ideas, and they are not linked to the key.
The key record is kept while the plan is active and for 12 months after it ends. Then it is deleted.
How long
Results are kept for 24 months. After that a daily job deletes them. The daily totals are kept for the same period. They contain no text and no personal data.
Who processes the text
TypeSafe AI, in the United States, computes the answers with its Jev model. It receives the idea text and nothing else about you. It acts as a processor. The transfer to the United States is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in its data processing agreement. TypeSafe AI states that it does not train models on API inputs. It keeps API inputs for a period that it does not publish. A delete on jev-fit does not delete the copy at TypeSafe AI.
Cloudflare hosts the tool and the database. It also acts as a processor.
How to delete a result
- Open the result in the browser that made it. Select "Delete this result", then "Yes". The idea text and the answers are deleted at once.
- Or send an email to hello@jev-fit.com with the link of the result.
If another person submits the same text later, the tool makes a new result. Your deleted result does not come back.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, for its correction or deletion, and for a limit on its use. You can also object to its use. Send an email to the address above. You will get an answer within one month. The tool has no accounts, so the link of the result is the way to find your data.
You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD: www.cnpd.pt.
What not to submit
Do not submit personal data about you or about other people. Do not submit health data, passwords, keys, or confidential text from your employer or your customers. Describe the task, not the people.
